Hebe Music is scheduled to relocate for the third time in four years, but the new location positions to be its best yet.

The New Jersey music venue, which started as a live music spot and eatery under owner Kyle Duckworth in downtown Mt. Holly in Burlington County, N.J. in 2011, will be setting up shop at the current site of 38 West, a bar and grill that also offers live music, in April. The management teams of 38 West and Hebe have agreed to come together to create a new venue, according to Hebe’s website.

This announcement comes after Hebe agreed to uproot from its Mt. Holly home and partner with Big Shots Bar and Grill in Burlington in March 2014. The opening night at the yet-unnamed third Hebe project will be just about one year since the first show at the Big Shots location.

The seating limit increase to 300 people will be one of the upgrades in Hebe taking its new venture. Previously it could house 65 persons as a BYOB club and then 125 in its time with Big Shots.

Another benefit to Hebe in the team-up with 38 West is the prime location. The venue will sit smack-dab in the middle of the Lumberton/Hainesport area and opposite the Hainesport Crossroads Plaza shopping center. Its easy accessibility off of NJ Route 38 is likely to be the biggest draw, and with the state highway spanning 19 miles from Cherry Hill to Southampton, the crowd will not be limited to those seeking live music from only the immediate area.

To some, a third move for a business, especially a music venue, in under five years would surely sound like a cause for alarm but Hebe has a big thing going for it: the artists/bands.

Over its time operated, Hebe has done well to promote local music, both original and covers, and feature acts both big name and small. The size of the venue was always an issue but there are people who seek an intimate live setting.

With Philadelphia being just a short drive and bridge away, Hebe in many ways needed and continues needing to establish itself as an alternative to some of the city’s finest music spots. If the Hebe/38 West set-up can combine the local music-first mentality with the premier location and value, there is no reason the venue can’t be a go-to and one eventually that is widely raved about.
